This section of the North Wales Coastal Cycleway is a real delight with great views all round. It starts at Pensarn then runs along the sea front promenades of Llanddulas and Colwyn Bay before arriving at the grand holiday resort of Llandudno. The route is mostly traffic free but there are a few minor sections of road riding necessary, such as in Rhos on Sea and when you arrive in Llandudno. The route is mostly flat, but there is a significant hill section at Llanddulas and a further steep section linking Penrhyn Bay to Llandudno. There are various distractions along the way, as you might expect with so many popular seaside resorts. Cafes, ice cream vendors and toilets can be found at numerous points along the route.
The route is 19km, or 38km for a return trip. Families with younger children may wish to go for a shorter route – there are plenty of potential starting points along the way and a suitably challenging ride can easily be concocted.
The route starts at the sea front car park at Pensarn.
