An enjoyable route up to a remote reservoir followed by two winding descents, and all undertaken in fine position once the initial short section beside the A55 is completed. The riding is pretty straightforward but the initial climb is very long and continuous. The central part of the route is not a bridleway but the National Trust has agreed to allow mountain bikes on the well made track to the lake provided that they are ridden responsibly. Should this situation change please respect and comply with any signage that you may come across. There is a similar track which runs breaks off southwards to the summit of Drum from the described route – please don’t tempted to cycle up this as access is prohibited under a comprehensive conservation management agreement.
The route should be possible throughout most of the year, however during the winter the higher sections of the route may be blocked by drifting snow.
Start from the large car park right on the seashore in Llanfairfechan.
