The Llandegla Forest has plenty of challenging routes for experienced bikers, but there is also an excellent 5km mountain biking trail (marked as the green route) which is suitable for beginners and family groups. The trail is way marked and avoids any significant inclines or technical sections. All tracks are completely enclosed within the forest, with no main roads to cross.
The green route takes you up a fairly gentle rise to a circuit of the reservoir where you can enjoy views out across the Clwydian Range. The return trip splits off left and follows a series of switch backs down to the visitor centre.
The facilities here are excellent - the Visitor Centre has a café and classroom/meeting room, plus a variety of facilities for bikers, including bike hire, a bike shop and repair centre. In addition you can hire an expert guide for a tour or get some skills tuition. There is also a choice of picturesque walking trails in the forest. The trails are open 7 days a week, parking is available on site.
